April 2001 Dale rescued this family heirloom rocking chair from the dumpster and restored it to functionality. Dale did considerable research on the chair which was probably made in the early 1900s. A 1915 catalog pictured a similar one at the outrageous price of $2.67. Dale's chair was refinished with 7 coats of Minwax Polyurethane and a mixture of linseed oil, beeswax, and tung oil. The wax/oil finish is what the legendary Sam Maloof uses to finish his furniture.
2002 Dale donated the toy trucks he made to the Children's Hospital in Oakland and a hospital in Richmond.
