Dale rescued this family heirloom rocking chair from the dumpster and restored it to functionality. Dale did considerable research on the chair which was probably made in the early 1900s. A 1915 catalog pictured a similar one at the outrageous price of $2.67. Dale's chair was refinished with 7 coats of Minwax Polyurethane and a mixture of linseed oil, beeswax, and tung oil. The wax/oil finish is what the legendary Sam Maloof uses to finish his furniture. |
